Meet Kurt Ruffley, LCPC

My path to becoming a mental health counselor has been shaped by a deep commitment to serving others throughout my career. Before entering the counseling profession, I proudly served in both the United States Navy and the United States Army, experiences that gave me firsthand insight into resilience, leadership, sacrifice, and the unique challenges faced by service members, veterans, and their families. Following my military service, I worked as a teacher, where I discovered a passion for helping individuals learn, grow, and overcome obstacles through patience, encouragement, and meaningful connection. These experiences ultimately led me to pursue a career in mental health, where I found my true calling. Today, as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and founder of RuffStuff Counseling PLLC, I provide trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy for individuals, couples, families, and veterans throughout Montana. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, relationship challenges, grief, and life transitions, always striving to create a space where they feel respected, understood, and empowered. My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in the belief that healing is possible when people are met with authenticity, compassion, and evidence-based care. Whether you're seeking support during a difficult season or working toward lasting personal growth, my goal is to help you build resilience, strengthen your relationships, and move forward with greater confidence and purpose. As a veteran and licensed counselor, my work is grounded in structure, clarity, and trauma-informed care.

My goal is to create a safe, collaborative environment where progress is practical and sustainable.
